Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP seeks a Software Engineering Manager in Tampa, FL.

Work You’ll Do

Lead onshore client management for software solution development projects. Own delivery execution blueprinting, architecture and estimations, delivery KPIs, risk, people, and quality management. Work with solution architects to refine planned software architecture and confirm that licensing is in place for development. Oversee project scope and budget. Review product delivery at the appropriate phases with stakeholders. Oversee and mentor team members in the areas of project and functional on-boarding based on the business demands (domain, advanced skill training, cross-training). Drive project improvements through regular quality, time and scope management tracking, undertaking regular root cause analysis of defects, improvements, and implementation. Track delivered software solutions and best practices within the context of current projects. Create internal product skills in a particular area ranging from learning and development initiatives, creation of P.O.Cs, and creation of public-level platforms for that area to expand business. Understand services and solutions and participate in internal activities to develop and support the growth of the market offering.


  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Five years of application development experience.
  • Experience must include five years of:
    • Participating in full system development life cycle implementations of web-based client-server applications;
    • Providing technical solutions to complex business requirements, participating and performing application testing, and preparing test plans and performing business validation;
    • Designing and developing multi-tier web-based client-server applications using JAVA/J2EE Spring Framework, and performing full stack JAVA application development using technologies, including JAVA, Spring Boot, JSP, jQuery, and hibernate;
    • Designing and coding in relational databases, including Oracle and MS SQL Server;
    • Utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure to deploy applications, and utilizing Scrum and Agile frameworks for internal development to perform coding and development;
    • Creating dynamic forms and rich user interfaces in HTML with CSS utilizing J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, Servlets and AJAX controls for reduced data transfer to servers;
    • Defining, automating build and deploying web applications using web application servers, including Apache Tomcat, WebSphere, WebLogic and JBOSS; and
    • Creating and maintaining project plans, traceability metrics, identifying and report status updates with clients and internal stakeholders, and providing ongoing software support services for clients.
  • Experience must include four years of:
    • Developing Web services using SOAP and REST, testing with SOAP UI, and maintaining source code with version control tools, including SVN and IBM Clear Case; and
    • Producing J2EE design patterns, including Data Transfer Objects (DTO), Data Access Objects (DAO), MVC architecture and struts, to introduce validations that resolve problems during the application and system design process.
  • Position requires approximately 10% domestic travel.
