Summary

Reporting to the DevRel Lead and aligned with the Smart Contracts Tribe, the Developer Relations Specialist plays a crucial role in our Cardano ecosystem. This role calls for a clear understanding of how technical communities can boost adoption, enhance reputation, and spur growth.

You'll be building and nurturing relationships within the developer community, understanding developer needs, and orchestrating technical events, hackathons, and meetups. All these efforts aim to increase the adoption and understanding of Cardano's technologies.

Alongside the Smart Contracts Tribe, you'll be crafting and delivering a developer engagement plan, enhancing Cardano's standing within the wider blockchain community.

A significant part of your role will be to foster a vibrant community atmosphere, one that encourages shared learning and constructive feedback. This will involve capturing and sharing knowledge, moderating discussions, and managing feedback.

As the Developer Relations Specialist, you're right at the heart of things - developing relationships, accelerating Cardano's adoption, strengthening its reputation, and propelling growth within our ecosystem.

Duties

  • Strengthen Developer Engagement and Participation: Foster meaningful relationships within the Cardano developer community, within the Smart Contract Tribe. Develop strategies and programs to enhance engagement, participation, and loyalty.
  • Community Engagement Strategy: Work collaboratively with the Smart Contract Tribe and other teams to create and implement a comprehensive engagement strategy that aligns with the Tribe's strategic objectives and results in measurable outcomes.
  • Developer Advocacy: Advocate for developers' needs within the Smart Contract Tribe, ensuring their feedback and concerns are effectively communicated and addressed.
  • Technical Documentation and Educational Content: Identify gaps in current resources and contribute to the creation of comprehensive technical documentation, educational materials, and tutorials to assist developers in understanding and implementing Cardano's smart contract technology.
  • Better Feedback Loops: Streamline the process of collecting, interpreting, and conveying developer feedback to the Smart Contract Tribe, fostering a swift and effective response to community pain points and suggestions.
  • Technical Event Organization: Collaborate with teams to facilitate developer-focused events, such as hackathons, webinars, and online meetups, encouraging innovation within the Smart Contract Tribe.
  • Playbook and Methods Bank: Developer a set of methods and tactics using strong interpersonal skills to mediate and improve collaboration and comprehension between teams in pursuit of Smart Contract Tribe objectives and the Community Chapter.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the Smart Contract Tribe and other teams, encouraging collaboration to meet shared objectives and promote the growth of the Cardano ecosystem.
  • Developer Recognition: Develop and manage programs that recognize and reward developer contributions within the Smart Contract Tribe, boosting community morale and fostering a sense of belonging.
  • Developer Onboarding: Collaborate in creating a welcoming and efficient onboarding process for new developers joining the Smart Contract Tribe, ensuring they have the knowledge and resources to contribute effectively.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field preferred
  • A proven track record in Developer Relations, Developer Experience, or Technical Advocacy, with direct experience of having built and led successful technical teams
  • Demonstrated experience in the blockchain and web3 ecosystems, with a holistic understanding of the economics of these ecosystems
  • Proven ability to explain technical concepts and problems in plain English
  • Demonstrated experience in improving developer experience, documentation, and tools
  • Experience working with a variety of development environments and languages, with a passion for making developers satisfied and happy
  • Familiarity and proficiency with agile methodology, Jira, and leading sprints.
  • An analytical and data-driven approach to building and nurturing developer communities

Location

IOG is a distributed organization and therefore this is a remote position. Due to team distribution, we are ideally searching for someone in Ireland or the UK.
