仕事内容

Work with the venture’s business team and lead conducting technical due diligence on potential investments, with main focus on evaluating; technical viability, technology readiness level, associated development plan, and technical risk assessments.
• Proactively identify and source investment opportunities in the areas of decarbonization, green energy, and energy transformation
• Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, VCs, and other stakeholders
• Attend conferences, networking events, and meetups to stay updated on the latest developments and deepen relationships with industry, government, academia and student groups involved with sustainable energy.
• Support and/or undertake deal negotiation and execution and actively contribute to investment committee preparations.
• Support portfolio companies develop their product via monitoring and proactive collaboration.
• Work with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams of both JERA Ventures and JERA Co to assess strategic alignment of startups, deploy new technologies, and implement innovative energy pilot projects.

求める経験・スキル

【必須】

•Passion for decarbonization, green energy, and energy transformation.

• Master's degree in electro-chemistry or an energy related field.
• Strong understanding of R&D processes and key evaluation points in technological development process in energy related field.
• 5+ years of experience in R&D section of an energy related business corporate, or 3-5 years of experience in venture capital fund undertaking technical evaluation in decarbonization sector.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated networking abilities and a proactive approach to deal sourcing
• Strong analytical and research skills

【尚可】

•PhD in electro-chemistry or an energy related field is advantage but not essential.
•3-5 years of investment experience in investment banking, venture capital, or private equity is preferred but not essential.
•Native-level Japanese and business-level English language ability including oral communication or Native-level English essential and business-level Japanese preferred but not essential
