Job Description

About The Role

As a Conflicts & Compliance Lawyer, you will support programs including new business and conflicts intake and general regulatory risk management. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining substantive knowledge of the ethics and professional responsibility rules applicable in the Firm’s geographic jurisdictions.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting senior lawyers and other conflicts department staff in identifying, evaluating, and resolving ethical and business conflicts
  • Performing legal research
  • Providing assistance on projects relating to conflicts
  • Taking responsibility for general risk management programs such as file audits, accountants letters, and contract review
  • Drafting or assisting internal lawyers in drafting, engagement, waivers, and accountants’ letters
  • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers
About You

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have professional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the firm
  • Manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines
  • Exhibit an advanced ability to perceive and analyse problems and develop alternative strategies to solve them
And have:

  • A Law degree or an equivalent
  • Qualified as a solicitor, barrister or equivalent foreign lawyer with an unfettered right to practice in their home jurisdiction
  • 3-5 years PQE and two years of experience in a conflicts department of a major international or English law firm
