About The Role
As a Business Development Senior Specialist - Global Tax & Finance Department, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Practice Group Chairs (PGCs) and Finance Department leaders to execute on strategic initiatives in support of our Tax practice and on other special projects and initiatives across Latham’s Global Finance Department. The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and location. Discretionary bonuses may be awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance — and profit-sharing partnership contributions to 401(k) accounts may be given based on firm performance.

About The Role
As a Business Development Senior Specialist - Global Tax & Finance Department, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Practice Group Chairs (PGCs) and Finance Department leaders to execute on strategic initiatives in support of our Tax practice and on other special projects and initiatives across Latham’s Global Finance Department. Other key responsibilities include:
Strategic Planning
- Working in close collaboration with the Global Tax Chairs and partners, the Global Finance Department BD team, and other BD colleagues to develop, implement, and support the Real Estate practice’s overall marketing initiatives and strategic business plans
- Aiding in the execution of cross-selling strategies and client targeting initiatives, including collaborating with relevant BD teams
- Coordinating the research of markets, competition, and conflicts for the department and practice groups to drive strategy
- Developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the firm’s market position, competitive landscape, client base, and bench of expertise
- Becoming an expert in our Tax practice, as well as Global Finance Department strategic priorities, and operating as a “dot connector” internally
- Developing research, analyzing, and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships
- Assisting with the creation and maintenance of written marketing materials and web site content, including practice profiles and relevant experience lists
- Collaborating with the dedicated pitch team on the development and production of pitch materials
- Managing practice group sponsorships, including internal and external coordination of deadlines and deliverables and regular evaluation of existing and new sponsorships

- Display the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels
- Possess strong analytical and research skills to comprehend and communicate data
- A Bachelor’s Degree
- Previous experience in BD/Marketing, preferably in a law firm with Tax and Finance
