About The Role
The Accountant is an integral part of Latham’s Finance & Accounting team. This varied role will ese you work with colleagues across Asia and around the globe. Working in a highly professional environment, this position will deliver the opportunity to become involved in project work that will add to your current knowledge and understanding. In addition to undertaking and executing a wide-range of accounting tasks from processing invoices and client billing to ensuring all client guidelines, internal protocol and firm policies are followed and enforced, this position will allow you to be a true business partner. This role will be located in our Beijing office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Other key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in payment initiation; reviewing accounting documents for completeness and accuracy
- Preparing and reviewing general ledger account postings, investigating discrepancies and ensuring all items have been posted by month-end
- Acting as the liaison between billing attorney, attorney support team members, billing staff, and clients by providing expert level subject matter support
- Responding to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner
- Providing support to the inventory management function, budgeting and forecast process, tax filing, audit, and other ad-hoc projects
- Demonstrate well-developed and professional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm
- Display the ability to work in a team environment with a customer-service focus
- Possess strong knowledge of bookkeeping procedures such as posting, balancing, debits and credits, and journal entries
- Relevant experience in accounting and billing processes and practices
- Prior experience within a law or audit firm
