Nasdaq is a leader in financial services, providing innovative solutions and technology platforms within the financial industry. The Index Platform technology group are currently seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join our growing team.
Reviews system requirements and business processes; codes, tests, debugs and implements software solutions.
  • Architect, design and develop a cloud-based platform to manage the configuration, methodology, model, and parameters of financial indexes as configuration data.

  • Participate in the design of an index definition language, leveraging a background in portfolio management and financial index methodologies

  • Full stack development including user interface, APIs, and data management/storage for index definition.

  • Contribute to architectural decisions, including the selection of database and development frameworks to use.

  • Utilize Python, HTML5 and JavaScript for development, with potential to incorporate other languages and technologies as needed.

  • Manage version control, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) with GitLab and Terraform.

  • Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Financial Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in full stack development with a focus on Python, HTML5 and JavaScript.
  • Document-oriented database experience; ability to contribute to selection of specific platform.
  • Proven experience with cloud services, specifically AWS.
  • Understanding of financial engineering concepts as they relate to index and portfolio construction.
  • Experience with GitLab and Terraform for version control and CI/CD.
  • SQL and experience working with relational database technology and experience with Object – Relational integration
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to think creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with financial market data and trading systems is a plus.
  • Experience Required: At least 8 -10 years
  • Prefer Special Qualifications: Any cloud certificates.

The base pay range for this role is $120,000 - $219,400. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
