Job Description Summary:The Data Analyst Intern is accountable for supporting the Business Operations team in strategic and tactical decision making, performance monitoring and delivering actionable customer insights. The Business Operations team identifies opportunities across the UK business. This may be through finding new sources of revenue, unlocking unmet customer needs within the existing merchant portfolio, or driving upsell opportunities. The team works cross-functionally with other PayPal teams in the UK and internationally to deliver on the business priorities. Internship location – London, UK Internship duration – 12 months, starting July 2024

Your day to day
- Conduct data driven deep dive analysis on strategic topics e.g. new vertical analysis, merchant churn and other strategic themes as identified by the business.
- Track performance of our merchant business against goals, identify where and why we are over or under-performing
- Support the Enterprise Sales team with strategic and tactical decision
- Use various data / extraction manipulation techniques (using R/SQL/Python/MS Excel) to understand past trends
- Write code that automate dashboards allowing Sales Teams to find new opportunities
- Currently studying for an Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Science or other numerate degree
- Enrolled on a university course in your penultimate year, final year or already graduated university with a predicted or achieved 2.1 or above
- Commercial mindset coupled with analytical mindset and high attention to detail
- Exceptional at interpreting and drawing business insights from data and analysis
- Excellent oral, written, and communication/presentation skills
- Excellent knowledge of R/SQL/Python/MS Excel – ability to run queries to extract data from multiple systems – preferred
- Work authorization for the United Kingdom required
