Steptoe & Johnson, LLP, seeks an associate with 3+ years of experience to join our chemical regulatory and environment team within the Chemical and Life Sciences practice group in our Washington, DC office. Experience working at the Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) or the Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division (“ENRD”) is highly desirable, as is experience involving and/or implementing these agencies’ regulatory frameworks. Specific working knowledge of and familiarity with the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (“FIFRA”), the Toxic Substances Control Act (“TSCA”), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (“RCRA”) and/or the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) is preferred.The chemical regulatory and environment team offers excellent prospects for a proactive lawyer, offering career growth and diversification prospects. The expected salary for this position is $250,000 - $370,000, depending on experience.A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
