Business Overview:

As part of SDI’s Strategy Rotational Program (SRP), you will complete multiple rotations on our business line strategy teams and/or the enterprise corporate strategy team.

Strategy teams work across the company’s lines of business and enterprise functions to set a strategic direction and set of ​prioritized initiatives to deliver an integrated regional bank at scale to the individuals, small and medium sized companies, large companies, and institutions we serve.​ As a Strategy Associate, you will support defining and supporting the execution of Wells Fargo’s top strategic priorities.

In this role you will:

  • Assist in the identification, evaluation and recommendation of strategic business options for lines of business.

  • Review basic business, competitor, operational and/or technical information that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives.

  • Identify, gather, and analyze appropriate data to inform strategic insights for lines of businesses.

  • Exercise independent judgment to guide low-to-medium risk tasks and deliverables.

  • Develop presentations and other documents to support strategic recommendations for low complexity initiatives and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise. Excellent written and verbal communications are critical to ensure success.

  • Participate in internal strategic planning activities using knowledge and expertise.

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers and interact with internal clients.

  • Build expertise and gain a working knowledge of Wells Fargo and the financial services industry.

  • Prioritize work, attention to detail, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.

Ideal candidate for this role must have the following:

  • Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability

  • Attention to detail and ability to navigate ambiguity

  • Strategic, “outside the box” thinking and the ability and interest to quickly and effectively ramp up on unfamiliar topics.

  • Proactive, intellectually curious and interested in financial services, strategy and fintech

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Energetic self-starter who proactively takes initiative, remains curious and has a genuine interest in learning and growth

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of Strategy & Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree candidate with an expected graduation between December 2023 – June 2024

  • BA/BS degree candidate with major concentration in one of the following fields: Business, Economics, Finance or other related major.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills

Program duration: 24-months, starting on July 2024

Program Locations (varies based on need): Charlotte, NC; New York, NY

Pay Range

New York, NY – Pay Range: $90,000 Annually

Charlotte, NC – Pay Range: $75,000 Annually
